Frequently asked questions.
Why Paris?
Paris is a city known for its beauty, culture, and history—but beneath the surface lies a deep spiritual need. Fewer than 1% of people in France identify as Bible-believing Christians. Once the heart of powerful church movements, France also bears the scars of the Reformation, when tens of thousands of Protestants were brutally persecuted and killed for their faith. Today, secularism is not just cultural but enshrined in policy, with a government that aggressively separates faith from public life. Yet we believe God is not finished with France. We are moving to Paris as missionaries to help plant seeds of revival, share the hope of the Gospel, and walk alongside the small but faithful community of believers already there. Our prayer is that this city—this nation—will once again be a place where Jesus is known, loved, and followed.
Through this journey, we’ve learned that God often places a deep, quiet affinity in our hearts for the places He may one day call us to. For years, Britt has felt a special love for the French people and their culture. Brad studied French for four years and has always loved the language. So when our sending church shared the urgent need for missionaries in Paris, it felt like the pieces suddenly clicked into place. Looking back, we can see how the Lord has been gently preparing our hearts for this call for over a decade.
How long will you be gone?
We are committed to a 12-month assignment, with an option for 24 months. Our hearts and minds are open to whatever the Lord is calling us to, and we will reassess regularly through prayer and wise counsel.
Where will you live?
We are actively seeking an apartment and would love ANY connections you have in this regard. For city life to work for a large family, we need to live within 15 minutes walking distance to the littlest boys’ school. This puts us in the 7th Arrondisement, which gives us the ability to establish a sense of community with our school & church families. That being said, it’s a city, and it’s expensive. We are excited when we find a three-bedroom listing in our budget that is above 1,500 square feet. Did I mention we have three active boys?? We’re going to get to know each other VERY well!
What about school for the boys?
Bruce and Harris will be attending a school where they can be on the same campus - a rare treat in the city! It’s a bilingual school, which means 50% of their instruction will be in English, and 50% in French. We are thrilled for the opportunity for fluency to develop in them both. Carter will be attending an International school that teaches in English. After much prayer and consideration, we decided this was the best fit with his beginner-level French for a mid-term mission assignment - we didn’t want him to be lost trying to understand physics in French the entirety of our time there. We are excited about the large expat community with an American enrollment of only 16% and the 6 hours per week of French language instruction he will receive.
